Savannah is perfect city for a day trip. Historically significant, it is worth the stop.
Savannah, Georgia is a charming and historic city that is known for its beautiful architecture, rich history, and southern hospitality, making it a popular tourist destination. The city’s historic district, which is the largest in the United States, features many beautiful 18th and 19th-century buildings and monuments, offering a glimpse into Savannah’s past. Visitors can explore the many squares and parks that are dotted throughout the city, such as Forsyth Park, which is famous for its stunning fountain and lush greenery.
Savannah is also known for its vibrant arts scene, with many galleries, theaters, and music venues that offer a range of cultural experiences. Visitors can explore the Telfair Museums, which are home to a vast collection of contemporary and traditional art, or attend a performance at the Savannah Music Festival. The city is also famous for its great food, with many local restaurants and food markets offering a range of delicious southern cuisine, such as fried chicken, shrimp and grits, and peach cobbler. With its mix of history, culture, and great food, Savannah is a city that offers something for everyone.

Lunch: Mrs. Wilkes Dining Room (https://www.yelp.com/biz/mrs-wilkes-dining-room-savannah) (closed Saturday and Sunday and only open 11am-2pm) This restaurant has been serving up Southern comfort food since 1943, and it’s a must-visit for any foodie.
Do: After lunch, take a scenic riverboat tour on the Savannah River. You’ll learn about the city’s history and see some of its most iconic landmarks from the water, including the Talmadge Memorial Bridge and the Savannah Riverfront.
Dinner: Sandfly BBQ (https://www.yelp.com/biz/sandfly-bbq-savannah) has my favorite Ribs in the country or The Grey(https://www.yelp.com/biz/the-grey-savannah) is renown as a top restaurant.
After dinner, take a ghost tour through some of Savannah’s most haunted locations, including the Mercer Williams House and the Colonial Park Cemetery. With its rich history, delicious cuisine, and spooky folklore, Savannah is the perfect destination for a weekend getaway.
